The Asia-Pacific Regional Online Workshop on Carbon Pricing and Markets, organized by the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), the World Bank Group, and the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, officially began at 8 A.M. Geneva Time on 1 December.
The ECO2 Foundation was also invited to attend the meeting as a member of IETA.
This online workshop will provide countries with the latest information on carbon pricing, as well as current developments in the carbon market and future opportunities. Participants will also explore the perspectives of the business community, which is necessary to develop effective low-carbon incentive policies， such as carbon pricing tools.
Exchanges between public organizations and the private sector, as well as dialogue between businesses at this meeting, will influence global economic trends and the implementation of carbon reduction.
The speakers included Stefano De Clara (Director of International Policy at IETA), Virender Kumar Duggal (Principal Climate Change Specialist at the Asian Development Bank), Hendrik Rosenthal (Director of Group Sustainability at CLP), and more than 30 internationally renowned carbon market experts.
